As you approach twists and turns in the road, you will bear witness to stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico and Blind Pass Beach. A 4-acre artist and writers’ retreat, The Hermitage, invites talent from around the globe to grow and nurture their talents in restored historic homes located directly along the shoreline. Attendees are invited to stay for up to six-weeks and, in return, are asked to provide payback services to the community.
Manasota Key is a designated wildlife sanctuary where beaches are maintained in a more natural, less developed manner. MK is also known as the turtle nesting capital of Southwest Florida with nesting beginning in March peaking between May-August. Eggs incubate in 45 to 60 days which culminates about Oct. 31.
